The Department of Finance & Banking is one of the major departments under the Faculty of Business Administration.

The department commenced with 60 students in December, 2009 and has currently swelled to 127 students and 4 teaching staffs with the department upholding its unwavering commitment to quality teaching. The department is not only offering time-befitted finance and banking courses, but also a number of other multidisciplinary courses which will help the students to develop their sound knowledge and understanding of theoretical concepts and practical techniques for finance profession and managerial discipline.

Our aim is to groom professionals, business executives, entrepreneurs and academics in the relevant area seeking to expand their intellectual horizon and improve their management skills plus competence.

Activities

Apart from the class based learning methodology, the students are acquiring knowledge from field work and study tour. The students are also encouraged to participate in diverse cultural programs as well as debate competitions.

A student association titled ‘Finance & Banking Association’ which is participating in different programs of the university to celebrate Independence Day, International Mother Language Day, Mourning Day, Pahela Baishakh, Pahela Falgun and the like. This association is also arranging some other indigenous festivals like Pitha Utshab.

Seminar Library Information: There are a number of books on business, finance, banking, accountancy, economics, management, marketing, information technology and other multidisciplinary subjects.

A modern and world class computer lab will be constructed soon for the development of the students of this department.

Syllabus

Our courses are particularly suitable for those who pursue a rewarding career in finance as well as in banking. Finance graduates are in soaring demand and getting lucrative remuneration in different corporate houses as well as in financial institutions like leasing companies, investment companies, brokerage house and banks. The program comprises of 126 credit hours spread over eight semesters.
