Welcome to JKKNIU

The library is temporarily housed in four floors in the administrative building of the university. It has total of 27800 volumes of books covering Bengali and English literature, Music, Fine Arts, Computer Science and Engineering, Business Studies and 40 journals. Dewey Classification System is being used to organize and arrange books. It has now five permanent stuffs including two officers. Eight master role employees are also working in the library. All students, faculties, officers and teaching assistants are entitled to become library members.

JKKNIU library opened its door to the users on 09/09/2009. The reading room of the library is opened to the users from 9.00 AM to 6.00PM in single shift from Saturday to Wednesday and on Thursday from 9.00 AM to 2.00 PM. It is closed on Fridays and university holidays. The library provides borrowsing facilities to the teachers and officers of the of the university. Students are allowed to photocopy books. The library subscribes three journals and twelve popular dailies regularly. The library is governed by a high power library committee, Vice-Chancellor being the chairman of the committee. Other facilities like internet, database searching, audio-visual, etc to be developed in near future.
